Macrina Kgil is continuing her transformational career as one of the nation’s top women working in the crypto and blockchain industry.

Kgil is the Chief Financial Officer for Blockchain.com , one of the largest and most successful crypto companies, and she’s been a pioneer among women financial executives. In her new role, she will continue to amplify Blockchain.com’s leading role in the industry.

Macrina Kgil graduated from Seoul National University , earning a degree in mineral and petroleum engineering and a sub-major in chemical technology. Following graduation, she remained in Korea, working for Samil PwC, the Korean member firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers, the multinational accounting and consulting firm.

At Samil PwC, Kgil worked closely with South Korean companies, advising them on complex financial issues related to audits, accounting matters, and managing initial public offerings in the United States.

Later, she worked for Pwc in its Global Capital Markets Group, in New York City. Macrina Kgil worked closely with multiple clients on capital market transactions, including IPOs, public debt, accounting matters, and business carve-outs.

In 2008, she moved on to Fortress Investment Group as Vice President. At Fortress, she worked within the private equity group and led the areas that relate to the finance team aspect for its portfolio companies in the private equity space. Working closely with each portfolio company’s finance departments, Kgil played a key role in acquisitions, finance operations, and capital market transactions.

She joined Springleaf Financial Services as a Group Controller and later was named Chief Financial Officer. Macrina Kgil played a critical role as CFO , building and leading a team of more than 100 in the accounting and finance departments. She played a key role in the IPO, dispositions, acquisitions, and debt capital market transactions.

Springleaf later acquired OneMain Financial from Citigroup and changed its name to OneMain Financial.

Prior to joining Blockchain.com , Kgil served as the Chief Financial Officer for GPB Capital Holdings, a private equity fund with assets of $1.5 billion under management.
